i made a goblet the other day i used a bit of sycamore wood that i dryed in the oven for a time i then set it up between centers and used roughing gauge to start with to get the size and shape right i then used a 3/8 spinndle gouge make the bevles i then used a rs200kt boring tools and bored the in of the goblet to how i wanted it, i then start to give it the shape on the out side untill i was happy then i used the spinndle gouge to turn down the stem (i have been told to make it thiner) but i was just not brave enought to do it lol so if you feel brave enought go for it i will be on the next one , i then turned the base put lots of detail in it with the bevels i love doing that sort of thing to me the more detail i use the better but others have said to me thats not alway best so some time plain is best
PLEASE REMENBER I AM ONLY A BEGINER AS WELL SO HOW I HAVE DONE THIS MAY NOT BE RIGHT IF THIS IS THE CASE THEM PLEASE LET ME KNOW
as you can see in the pic below this was how it turned out
